Hi there! My name is Natalie Anastasia, and I am the editor, photographer and content creator here at Pastels & Passports. Thanks for stopping by!
My passion for travel started at a very young age, as I was fortunate enough to grow up in sunny Florida. I practically lived at the beach and Universal Studios, where we had super easy access to the Caribbean. This turned my family into massive cruise people, and I must admit, we always will be!
I remember visiting Haiti right after the 2010 earthquake, and realizing that this love of travel was turning into something much greater. Travel became not just an activity I really enjoyed, but something I needed in order to understand myself and others. I became fascinated by those I seemingly had nothing in common with at the surface, and was determined to learn more about their lives and experiences.
I have always loved to write, but didn’t feel I had enough purpose to start a blog just yet. After graduating college in May of 2016, I moved to San Francisco with my boyfriend Ryley. We have since fallen in love with the beauty of the West Coast. Through wandering around this amazing city, I became inspired to share my experiences in hopes of encouraging others to step out of their comfort zones, too. Moving across the country is no small feat and helped me find the direction I had been searching for.
On Pastels & Passports, I write about all of my adventures here in San Francisco, as well as my larger ones domestic and abroad. My travel goals always include finding hidden gems, noticing beautiful details and searching for plenty of pastel colors.
You might be wondering where this pastel obsession came from! I have always been drawn to things that are light, bright and pretty. Pastels are just a part of my nature and I feel they are a great way to help describe who I am, so I try to find them in my travels as much as possible.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my little bio and learn a bit more about what makes me most happy. I love connecting with others and would be thrilled to chat with you about all things travel, so be sure to add me on social media or shoot me a note.
Here’s to hoping your week is full of pastel adventures!
